The Peach Days Rodeo encompasses the traditions of the Old West. Where ranch hands tested their skills and their horses against fellow ranch hands. Soon enough small, informal competitions began popping up between ranches to see who was the best hand. From these initial contests, modern rodeo would eventually be born. Many of the skills showcased evolved into today’s Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-down Roping, Steer Wrestling, and Team Roping.
The Peach Days Open Rodeo will encompass those events along with Bull Riding, Ranch Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing, Mini Bull Riding, and Mutton Bustin’.
Sure to be a fan favorite is the Stampede Race. A reenactment from the days of overland cattle drives, the Stampede Race will show the speed of cowboys (or cowgirls) as they rush to put on their boots, saddle their horse, and see who can make it to the finish line first.
Come enjoy a night of rodeo action and help us keep our western heritage alive!
